Govt. approves proposal to establish IIITs under PPP mode in Assam, Tripura and Manipur

The Central government has confirmed the proposition to secure new Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) in Public Private Partnership (PPP) Mode in the condition of Assam, Tripura and Manipur at Guwahati, Bodhjungnagar and Senapati respectively.
According to the affirmed Schemes the Capital Cost of every IIIT is Rs. 128 crore which is to be contributed in the degree of 50:35:15 by the Central Government, the State Government and the business individually.
In the North-Eastern states, the industry cooperation for capital use will be kept at 7.5% and Central Government interest at 57.50% while State Governments at 35%.
In IIIT Guwahati, Assam, Academic Session has begun amid the Year 2013-14 with 60 seats in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electrical Communication Engineering (ECE). A measure of Rs. 5.00 crores was discharged to this Institute in the F.Y 2013-14 and Rs. 2.95 crores in the F.Y 2014-15.
