Presidency College
The Presidency University faculty and students have called on a strike after members of the Trinamool Congress youth wing allegedly barged into the university premises and manhandled them.
As per Presidency University officials TMC people were armed with sticks and rods and attached some teachers, ransacked the science lab where classes were being conducted.
PU’s female students have alleged that the attackers even threatened them with rape. “We were threatened with rape, beaten up. The hooligans threatened me thrice saying if I leave the campus, they’ll rape me,” said a student.
Malabika Sarkar, Pesidency University Vice Chancellor said, “I am 100 per cent with the students. I am as shocked as my students. When I was a student I had seen this kind of violence, but not that brutal that some outside people come and break the gates. All I could see was people carrying TMC flags,” reported IBN Live.
