To acknowledge efforts of thousands of teachers, Pearson Group has decided to felicitate teachers who are igniting the potential of future India. The company has instituted the ” Pearson Teaching Awards” across 20 categories and invites nominations from teachers across India.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize teachers who are going beyond the administrative call of duty to engage and inspire students. A jury will evaluate all nominations and the winners will be announced in December 2012.

It gives me great pleasure to announce this award, which felicitates this driving force. By recognizing our extraordinary teachers I do hope that the teaching profession once again comes back to the forefront as one the most inspiring and fulfilling profession.
Apart form it, the cricketer, Anil Kumble said who was also present on the event said “As a professional, individual and sportsperson, the lessons learnt from my teachers have shaped who I am. I am very glad to know that teachers’ contributions to millions of children in India are finally being recognized.”
The total award money has been constituted for more than Rs. 20 lacs. The jury will consider Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary School Teachers; schools teachers at NGOs, including non-formal schools; private school teachers; and government school teachers. Nominations will be open from October 19, 2012 in seven categories. Teachers can log to the awards website to file their nominations.
