Panjab University gets Research Grant
Panjab University will get a research grant of worth Rs 100 crore under the Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence (PURSE) programme. This grant will be used to strengthen infrastructural facilities in the campus’ science departments. Also, the Central Department of Science and Technology (DST) has recommended the university to set up the Accelerator facility.
This is one of the highly sophisticated-research equipment worth Rs 90 crore will provide a boost to advanced research in the departments of biological and physical sciences on campus and will also be available to scientists from across the country.
The DST has sanctioned the second instalment of Rs 10 crore following a presentation made by vice-chancellor RC Sobti in New Delhi in the first week of May.
