Mamata Banerjee inaugurated Techno India University at Rajarhat, West Bengal

The developments in relation to higher education in West Bengal are in full swing. Techno India University at Rajarhat, is the third university after Kazi Nazrul University in Asansole, Panchanan Barman University in Coochbehar to be established in the last one year. It is the first  private university inaugurated by the  Chief minister Mamata Banerjee. The university will be established after the state assembly passed a bill for the same.

According to  Mamata Banerjee, “We passed the bill in the assembly within seven days to have a private University”. The university will have campuses in Salt Lake and Joka areas of Kolkata. Techno India Trust, the promoter of this university, currently runs 15 engineering colleges, 10 business schools and 10 public schools.
