The three prospective names for the appointment the next director at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has come into the scene.
Prof. Ravindra Dholakia emerged as the main contender for the post ever since search for Samir Barua’s successor began. Raghuram is a faculty member at the top B-school and Datar is alumnus of IIM-A and Professor of accounting at Harvard University.
Prof. G Raghuram and Prof. Srikant Datar have also emerged in the race. The committee headed by L&T chief A M Naik, the chairman of the board of governors, met 35 faculty members of the institute to discuss the issue on Saturday. Datar’s inclusion in the race was a surprise for many. He has been a frequent visitor at IIM-A in the last one year. Raghuram, on the other hand, has just accepted an offer to join Indian Maritime University, Chennai, as vice-chancellor.
