JECRC University is a private university located in the city of Jaipur. The JECRC Foundation established twelve years ago to promote education in engineering, science, management, pharmacy and pure & applied sciences. The Foundation started its journey with the setting up of Jaipur Engineering College & Research Centre (JECRC). The Collaboration of the JECRC Foundation with University of Alabama, US in 2011 was a venture to enhance and enrich the academic, technical and cultural exposure of the JECRC University students.
An eminent academician and IIT-B alumnus- Brig (Dr) Surjit Singh Pabla has been appointed as President for JECRC University, Jaipur. He has over thirty five years of experience in academic engineering profession and administration. His credentials include Ph.D from IIT Mumbai and M.Tech. from IIT Mumbai. He has over ten years’ experience in command of Army units and administration of civilian employees in MES in practically all parts of the Country. He had the privilege of participating in the Indo-Pak war in 1971 as a young Lieutenant. He currently holds various responsible positions such as President-Indian Council of Universities, Secretary General-Association of Self Financing Universities, Chairman -Vice Chancellors Committee on New Curriculum for Engineering Colleges, Director- Geo Syndicate, SINE, IIT Bombay.
Also, he was the Member of Yashpal Committee on Reforms in Higher Education and Knowledge Commission, Sikkim. He served the Manipal Group in various positions and his last assignment was President, Manipal University Jaipur.
