Dr. JS Sathyanarayana Murthy has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Sri Ramachandra University, Tamil Nadu. He succeeds Dr S Rangaswami, an eminent Orthopaedic Surgeon, who completed his five year tenure.
Dr. JS Sathyanarayana Murthy is a renowned interventional cardiologist. He is presently Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiology, SRU, Murthy has over three decades of teaching and clinical experience.
A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Royal College of Physicians (Glasgow), Murthy has received Dr K S Sanjeevi Award and Life Time Achievement Award of Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University.
Sri Ramachandra University was established in the year 1985 as part of the Sri Ramachandra Education & Health Trust under the leadership of NPV Ramasamy Udayar. The institute got the status of a “Deemed University” in September, 1994 under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
