Today on the inauguration of International Management Institute (IMI) at Kolkata, RPG family younger son, Sanjiv Goenka announced an investment of over Rs.150 crore in the education sector, building four educational institutions in Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Kerela.
“We would be investing over Rs.150 crore in building world class educational institutes in Delhi and Bhubaneswar in the next 12 months. We are still in the conceptual stage about the projects in Andhra (Pradesh) and Kerela,” said Sanjiv.
Proposed Rs.100 crore institute will offer two-year post-graduate diploma course in management. Former director of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata Ashish Bhattacharya has been appointed as the director.
“I am very happy to be associated with the project. Our endeavour will be to make the institute a centre of excellence,” Bhattacharya told IANS.
The sprawling IMI has been built on an area of 2.8 lakh square feet.
