Amity University opens campus in Dubai Academic City

Amity University, one of India’s leading private universities, will be opening a regional campus at Dubai International Academic City.  Amity which has more than 80,000 students pursuing 240 programs in 50 diverse disciplines from pre school to Ph.D. It already has branches in London, Singapore, New York, California and Mauritius.

It aims to have 5,000 students in the UAE over four years and will offer Bachelor and Master degree programs in nuclear science, aerospace engineering, solar and alternative energy, transport and logistics, banking and insurance and hospitality administration.

“Amity has a great commitment to the region and will offer over 20 career-focused degree programmes with a strong emphasis on research and collaboration with the respective industries,” said Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University in a statement announcing the launch.

According to  Chauhan the decision to offer these programs came after a detailed analysis of the needs of the UAE. Tuition fees will range from Dh25,000 to Dh35,000.

Amity aims to have students of all nationalities including and Emiratis and to attract meritorious candidates 125 scholarships have been instituted.

Amity also has global expansion plans. “We just received approval from the Romanian government to set up a campus there. In the next four years, we will have campuses in Australia, Paris, Vienna and Romania,” added Chauhan.
