Dr. S M Bhatia, Retd. Director, Technical Education Madhya Pradesh has joined Trinity Institute of Technology & Research, Bhopal as a new Director on 24.05.2010. Earlier Dr. Bhatia has served as Director Vyapam from July 1997 to January 2001, where he was involved in the formulation of Rules for all the professional courses such as Engineering, MBA, MCA, PMT, Pre PG etc and successfully conducted the entrance examinations not only in MP, but also on pan India basis such as New Delhi, Bangalore, Lucknow, Bombay, Allahabad etc. Dr. Bhatia was also key instrument in forming the autonomous societies pertaining to all government engineering colleges and polytechnic institutions in the state, empowering them to retain the tuition fees and facilitated the governance of the autonomous body which has resulted in quantum jump in the financial health of the govt. run institutions. Dr. Bhatia has served as Director, Technical Education from May 2002 to August 2004. He was also key person for the state govt. in implementing world bank assisted, Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP), in which state of Madhya Pradesh was a leading state out of six provinces selected in the first trench.
Dr. Bhatia is M. Tech degree holder from IIT, Bombay 1971, in Mechanical Engg. and has been awarded Ph. D. degree by University of Rurkee (Now IIT Rurkee) 1979. Dr. Bhatia is also a recipient of Prestigious National Research Award 1979 from IIT Rurkee (gold medal as a first prize) and has published a large number of research papers in the reputed national and international journals.
The Trinity Institute of Technology & Research would be deriving the benefit of rich experience of Dr. Bhatia in the academic, administrative and developmental activities in the college as a new Director.
